Waterjet Cutting


LMS Stampings employs the latest CNC waterjet technology to cut intricate shapes in virtually any material up to two inches thick with +/- .010 tolerances.   From prototypes to full scale production runs, LMS precision waterjet machining delivers cost-effective cutting solutions without the tempering and edge hardening of other high temperature metal cutting technologies.

Waterjets cut through any material without interfering with the inherent structure of the material; there is no HAZ (heat affected zone).  The waterjet stream is approximately .030 inches wide and can pierce holes as small as .045 inches.   Nested parts can be as close as .100 inches apart and the taper of the cut ranges from 1 to 1.5 degrees depending upon the material and the quality of the cut required.
